Your personality and
your life are the reflection of your habits. The kind of shape you are in, your
happiness or unhappiness quotient, your success quotient everything somewhat
sums up to the kind of habits you are cultivating because habits are what you
do repeatedly every day.
Habits can sway you
towards either extreme. Positive habits can put you on the track of progress
while negative habits can take you towards stagnation and negativity. So it’s
important to take control over your negative habits such has procrastination,
negative thinking, time mismanagement, or resisting change before it shapes up your
personality and future. As quoted by Jill James, “First we form habits then
they form us. Conquer your bad habits, or they’ll eventually conquer you.” On
the other hand positive habits such as leading a healthy lifestyle, developing
healthy relationships, positive thinking, work prioritisation and
self-discipline can help you design a more fulfilling, meaningful and
successful future. To develop positive
habits you need to observe self-discipline and self-awareness. Self-discipline
and will power will provide you with motivation to get rid of negative habits
and inculcate positive habits. Self-awareness will help you to recognise your
own habits which will eventually help you to have control over them.
Remember, “You
cannot change your future, but you can change your habits, and surely your
habits will change your future.”
